Free world-class concert to unite Gladstone community
Queensland Symphony Orchestra to perform with more than 200 local students
Delivering on its commitment to bring quality music education and concert experiences to regional Queensland, 14 musicians from Queensland Symphony Orchestra will perform in Gladstone on Wednesday 30 August, alongside more than 200 local high school and primary school students in the free GEM Community Concert.
Featuring in the free showcase concert at Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre will be Bernaraby State School, Boyne Island State School, Calliope State School, Calliope State High School, Clinton State School, Gladstone Central, Gladstone South, Gladstone West, Kin Kora State School, Miriam Vale State School, Tannum Sands State High School, Toolooa State High School, Trinity College Senior School, Chanel College and Faith Baptist Christian School.
The concert also features Gladstone instrumental music students in the combined schools String Ensemble, Concert Band and Symphonic Band, conducted by Stefanie Smith (Concert Band) and Mark Sullivan (Strings).
This event is free, but bookings are essential.
The community concert follows on from the knockout Symphony Under the Stars with QSO performed earlier this year in May with more than 3,000 people attending.
